REACHES OUT
Little Baguio, Malita, Davao del Sur, Philippines
Deep in the remote misty mountains of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, live indigenous communities who for centuries have lived autonomous lives and have kept their tribal identity. Natives from the tribes of T'boli, Mandaya, Manobo and B'laan, among others, have maintained their culture, traditions and beliefs.
Out of reach and far from civilization, these tribal communities also suffered from poverty and neglect. But God smiled on the villagers when in 1937 the PME Fathers (Pretres Missions des Etrangeres or Foreign Mission Society) started their missionary work in this region
